Synopsis
Following the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, America searched for hope during one of the darkest moments in its history. That hope arrived in the form of a young pilot from Cambria County, Pennsylvania.
Lt. Col. Boyd David “Buzz” Wagner became America’s first U.S. Army Air Forces ace of World War II while defending the Philippines against overwhelming odds. His courage captured national attention, yet over time his remarkable story faded from public memory.
Today, members of the Air & Space Forces Association’s Lt. Col. B.D. “Buzz” Wagner Chapter 221 are working to ensure his legacy is never forgotten. Through historical research, restoration efforts, public education, and the creation of this documentary, they continue the mission of honoring one of America’s earliest World War II heroes.
